Planetary gearboxes comprise a set of gears, shafts and bearings enclosed in a housing unit and arranged in a planet system. They are speed reducers and convert input speed (usually provided by an electric motor or hydraulic motor) to a lower output speed whilst creating higher torque.
The benefits of Planetary gearboxes, compared to traditional gearboxes, It is incredibly compact yet very efficient – with typical efficiency losses of just 3% per stage. A high proportion of input energy is converted into torque rather than mechanical losses. Greater efficiency leads to cost savings over time and usage.
Load distribution is favourable – the more planets featured the greater the load ability and the better the torque density – as is stability.
